weathering games
This rock was just an ocean rock
The first time I encountered it
A rock that vaguely resembles another rock
I had known before
Familiar rock type and colors
But the ocean is not the sea
Suddenly,
she no longer stands in solitude
From the perspective of geologic time
this rock was once attached to a shore
Long ago,
this mass of sediments and deposits
was physically connected to the stage like coastal sedimentary formation
I am standing on
she no longer stands in solitude
From the perspective of geologic time
this rock was once attached to a shore
Long ago,
this mass of sediments and deposits
was physically connected to the stage like coastal sedimentary formation
I am standing on
Lead by curious aquatic melodies
I reluctantly detach from my physical self,
and drift
Leaving behind
for a moment,
the present day’s troubles and stresses
They take me to realms beyond words
Leaving behind the logics of language
I reluctantly detach from my physical self,
and drift
Leaving behind
for a moment,
the present day’s troubles and stresses
They take me to realms beyond words
Leaving behind the logics of language
The portal disappears
and I go back to watching the rock and the water
playing weathering games
and I go back to watching the rock and the water
playing weathering games
When the tide is low,
the waves twirl around it slowly,
drawing me in
On lucky days,
A gigantic swell consumes the rock with one splash
flooding the stone and its surroundings
in one spellbinding motion
Over time watching,
the water movement around the rock
opened portals into other temporalities
the waves twirl around it slowly,
drawing me in
On lucky days,
A gigantic swell consumes the rock with one splash
flooding the stone and its surroundings
in one spellbinding motion
Over time watching,
the water movement around the rock
opened portals into other temporalities
External forces came together as such
Eroding away small pieces
Time after time
What does time look like from the perspective of the rock?
Some days,
borrowing energy from the sea’s momentum
I sail and glide
with coastal birds
Eroding away small pieces
Time after time
What does time look like from the perspective of the rock?
Some days,
borrowing energy from the sea’s momentum
I sail and glide
with coastal birds
I follow migrating flocks of seagulls
With synchronized wing flaps
Gliding over tidal waves
With the support of drifting clouds
From above,
the water ripples form momentary mountain belts
rising from the belly of the wave
Bursting misty molten volcanoes
Every now and then,
water crashes into the rocky coast with a reverberating bang
that I can feel beneath my feet
pulling me back to the present moment
With synchronized wing flaps
Gliding over tidal waves
With the support of drifting clouds
From above,
the water ripples form momentary mountain belts
rising from the belly of the wave
Bursting misty molten volcanoes
Every now and then,
water crashes into the rocky coast with a reverberating bang
that I can feel beneath my feet
pulling me back to the present moment
